I think you can look no further than TI to get an answer to your question. At CES, they do not attend without a plethora of products (made by other companies in this case)and these companies are happy to tout that they have TI tech inside.
For Edig, take a product like the digeplayer, our most successful. Wencor is not going to attend CES, does not want us to talk about providing the tech inside, and hence will never evangelize for us.
Thus it seems to me that making a product that we can market ourselves while more complex and resource intensive for such a small company, has the potential to really pay off big if we can get it in front of the right set of eyeballs willing to PARTNER with us and bring us the visibility and synergy that we have previously been lacking in all of our previous endeavors.
