Co. Knew Thermostat Claims Were Overheated, Buyers Say

Law360, New York (June 7, 2016, 5:12 PM ET) -- Nest Labs Inc. customers pursuing class certification in a suit alleging the company's thermostats weren't the cost cutters they were advertised to be told a California federal judge Friday that the manufacturer's own data showed the savings claims were exaggerated.
The purchasers told a judge that all members of the proposed class relied on Nest's communications that the Nest Learning Thermostat would yield energy bill savings of 20 percent but that the Google-owned company's internal data showed actual savings were less.
