Native to Southern California, Lauren G. Wilkinson was born in La Crescenta, located fifteen miles from downtown Los Angeles. Ms. Wilkinson moved to Santa Cruz to attend the University of California Santa Cruz where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies. During college, Lauren worked in university administration and interned with the District Attorney's Office, helping crime victims bring restitution claims to recover monetary losses.
In 2012, Ms. Wilkinson earned her Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law in San Diego where she graduated cum laude at the top of her class. During law school, Ms. Wilkinson worked with low-income litigants to secure restraining orders in domestic violence and civil cases. In addition, Ms. Wilkinson has significant experience in civil litigation and has participated extensively in discovery and trial preparation. These experiences afforded Ms. Wilkinson a high level of responsibility and professional success early on in her career. Also a firm believer in the value of pro bono work, Ms. Wilkinson regularly volunteers in the San Diego community and was awarded the Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services by the California State Bar.
Ms. Wilkinson was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2012, and is licensed to practice law before the California Supreme Court and the Southern District Court of California.
Lauren presently holds the position of Associate Attorney at Scudi & Ayers, LLP, a law firm specializing in cross-border federal and state civil litigation.
Legal research and writing, discovery and trial preparation for complex insurance litigation.
Drafting pleadings, motions and demand letters, negotiating with mortgage lenders in real estate practice.
Client interviews, drafting declarations, preparing restraining order petitions for judicial review.
Performing due diligence in land development transactions, reviewing real estate contracts, marketing and general legal support.
University fundraising and development, public relations and campus outreach.
Pursuing delinquencies in restitution cases, creating and expanding volunteer network for D.A.'s Office with students at U.C. Santa Cruz.
