New U.S. Patent Awarded to e.Digital

Innovation is the lifeblood of progress in M2M and the IoT (Internet of Things). Thanks to those companies and individuals that are willing to continually push the boundaries by developing new ideas and technologies, the IoT will continue to change the way we live, work, and play.

e.Digital Corp., www.edigital.com, a developer of innovative patented technologies, has announced a new patent—U.S. Patent 9,002,331—adding to its Nunchi patent portfolio that includes six others. As a company that constantly strives to raise the bar in consumer devices and technologies, e.Digital says its Nunchi technology helps bring data from fixed or mobile sensors together, uniquely “fusing” it to “recognize, understand, and affect interactions.”

Fred Falk, president and CEO of e.Digital, says the patent will play an important role in the future of mobile communications. As a whole, the Nunchi patent portfolio includes technologies that will enhance mobile devices, cloud computing, and adaptive computing. The goal is to add value to mobile communications by opening new doors in terms of user experience and revenue models.

The ability to gather and leverage sensor and user data from mobile devices is key to unlocking the future potential of the IoT. When devices can capture and act on intelligence about their surroundings in realtime, including a user’s activities and the environmental conditions, these devices will deliver a new level functionality and value.

e.Digital envisions Nunchi technologies enabling applications in health and wellness, emergency response, and personal safety, among other vertical markets. The company says more Nunchi patent applications are currently underway.
