Lions share of the cost is getting the proxy statements to every shareholder of record. The company has expressed that SH's need to sign up for electonic delivery of the proxy statement via their broker, vs EDIG having to provide a paper copy and mailing it to their contact address.
The associated fees, expenses for BOD attendees and meeting room cost is nothing, compared to the printing and mailing cost. I assure you, this figure is accurate and has been mentioned many times.
There was in fact a follow up statement regarding IPmetrics at the last SHM on 8-29-13, but they did not come right out and mention them by name.
If you recall when Nunchi was on the IPmetrics website, there was a signup form requiring an NDA to obtain detailed info and communications from EDIG as needed for interested parties DD.
IPmetrics job was one of valuation, patent notification (getting the word out) which we interpreted as a form of marketing. They did what they were hired to do. This statement by BLR, in the form of a question, was asked of Cocumelli that day, close as I recall..."so, more then 50 and less than 100 have been notified of the Nunchi patents?" The reply was yes, then Falk chimed in with "and many conducting DD."
I've said this before, IMO IPmetrics did what they were hired to do and they are done. I don't know that for a fact, nobody does, but it's a reasonable assumption.
Outside services (outsourcing) are common place with no need to continue such once the task is complete. Remember, Handal's role was expanded, meaning to me, the baton was passed to Handal.
My observation and opinion only.
