Judge Dismisses RICO Claims Against 'Patent Troll' Lumen

Michael Lipkin Law360, Los Angeles (May 19, 2014, 8:20 PM ET) -- A New York federal judge on Monday tossed FindTheBest.com’s racketeering claims against Lumen View Technology LLC, which FTB had called a patent troll trying to extort licensing fees, ruling that it had not properly pled predicate acts for racketeering.

U.S. District Judge Denise L. Cote dismissed FTB’s racketeering claims, leaving in place four state law claims but refusing to exercise supplemental jurisdiction over them.
