A simple answer to your question. They are going to try and find what they just learned and apply it to what they might have or develope patten wise. Why pay edig for anything if they can avoid it. Thats one of the reason why I personally don't like NDA's because when you finally know what they did the big money has been taken out of the process. Ypou leave yourself wide open to fraud and we all know how long that can take to get staighten out if ever.
