IPMetrics was brought in in I believe March of 2013 to help value and market Nunchi whose main patents were approved in Nov. 2012. In a, I believe, November 2013 PR it was stated that Handal was also involved in the Nunchi project. Some speculated that the need for a law firm could mean that the marketing phase was close to over and the lawyers were brought in to negotiate agreements. We do not know that for sure, but if it is close to accurate some good Nunchi news could be not too far off unless someone has built a better mouse trap in the interim. Things move much more quickly in the tech world than they do in other manufacturing businesses.
IPMetrics, to my knowlege, was not involved in the valuation of the flash portfolio. I think it was Handal's job in conjunction to filing the numerous suits. Handal used Blue Sands to help with identifying potential infringers of the flash portfolio. Handal then included many retailers to the suits to put pressure on the infringers and, at the same time, gather sales figures that would help in deciding how much money they should go for.
