Once the company puts out a public statement, be it defined to a tee of it's meaning, too completely vague or somewhere in between, to discuss the matter further with a single person would be giving out inside information.

Fred will always refer the question to a PR, Q or what ever was used to put out the information, such as an 8-K as well.

The desire for clarification of a public statement is futile.
