It’s all on the wrist
Samsung Electronics Co. unveiled its new 2.6-ounce Galaxy Gear watch on Wednesday during an event in New York’s Times Square, beating Apple in coming out with a wristwatch device that can make phone calls, surf the Web and take photos. Samsung, the biggest maker of smartphones, set the price of the Galaxy Gear at $299 and said it would go on sale Sept. 25. Featuring a 1.63-inch screen and 1.9-megapixel camera, it will sync with tablets and smartphones using Google’s Android software. Sony Corp. already has its Smartwatch that syncs with Android handsets.
