They had lots of logistics problems and a high price tag, yet still prevailed. Branding, marketing, snagging the smaller HDD a year in advance of the competition to give them the smallest form factor and there you have it. Jobs was aggressive and drove his vision. Portalplay was lucky enough to be part of that niche play. Up until that they were losing money by the tens of millions. Apple shares have gone up 5 fold based on a MP3 player niche market play.
EDIG had takers but those takers didn`t have the vision of a Jobs or had ``other`` superceeding issues that shut them down prematurely.(Bang&Olufsen, Gateway)
That being said, the markets still remain very open to the next niche product, whether that`s in portable IFE (in which EDIG helped define the ``product of the year``) or other markets.
So to say no one wants it is not entirely accurate. We just need the right niche with the right partner and this 10 cent otcbb rises again.
One significant deal and this moves up quickly. No news and we linger. 50 cents is a 5 fold move...a buck is 10.
