"We test 'media' now - from what I gather it's not memory data."

???

"But it has got to be data-related to structure whole memory environment."

???

The scan has nothing to do with data integrity...

As for the data structure...the data environment is logical....and it grows into the memory physically.

By that, when data is placed on the memory the operating system writes a header (metadata) within the same segment as the user data. That metadata carries all the detailed information for the considerations of a structured environment. In that, it builds into logical overlay of the memory as data is physically programmed to the memory. API of the operating system then interacts with the metadata details for the typical functions of an operating system including hierarchy considerations, files, sub files, search, name...etc. (445)

Unlike typical operating systems that build virtual files (files paging/or shadowing to RAM resource for updating) of data structure for where data is located, files growing as the physical user data grows....

e.Digital does not do that....they create metadata and forget about it....its physically cast and that's that....when files modify the metadata changes.

File headers (metadata) is widely known in the industry, however, orchestrating an operating system utilizing this method with novel details as to the metadata and what its ability can be .... is novel .

The operating system wraps the user data in fast fashion....as fast as the flash memory can program (write), utilizing the smallest amount of SRAM. The MOS is only hindered by the speed of the flash....the faster the physical ability of the flash, the better.

The combined OS functionality, SRAM, and Flash program ability ... EMULATES a full blown RAM resource of a virtual environment.... and is faster than the hindering overhead of virtual environment.

MOS details are written physically into the flash.

and it does the same on 737...

Other considerations found in "OBJECTS AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION " as equally important:

"Also disclosed is a method for recording a new message without disturbing the physical continuity of existing messages and without manually searching for a blank segment of memory on the recording medium which includes the steps of"

The underlined condition is a direct result of what happens under the hood as well...

For others utilizing standard methods of flash management (the under the hood stuff)....they can not make that statement...as they do those things.
