I know what you're smacking at per the data-segmenting - that's icing on the cake, and is the core issue, but all that circuitry, from actuator button to mic to microprocessor to storage external/internal is hardware configuration; and without it IMVHO no handheld portable device of pert-near any type is without.

I can't understand why this isn't huge news thru-out the industry.

Maybe it will become so.
