Actually, I may have mis-spoke.... Sole Source isn`t really something that a company chooses or asks to be, they just or they aren`t. In this case, at the moment, EDIG continues to be sole source for the digEplayer. Wencor can`t procure the exact same commodity from anyone else. But they probably have an eye toward changing that. Assuming their arrangement with Triad gives Wencor full rights to IP developed, that IP will ultimately become part of the spec they take to manufacturers. Multiple sources = price competition between potential suppliers. Some of the IP, hard or soft, may be installed by the manufacturer, and some (soft) they may elect to install themselves after delivery.
