1) Yes, I believe management has done some stupid things - definitely has placed trust in the wrong people. And if they disclosed how much they ``charged`` for their IP, the oversight, and other elements of cost for a digE, - as you suggest - that would have been extremely stupid. Contractually, such disclosure is only necessary in order to be responsive to a solicitaion for a competitively bid cost-type contract. But this would be sole source (well, in the past at least) with no competition, and when was the last time you saw a cost type contract for a consumer item? Especially a non-development contract? Wouldn`t happen. I believe all contracts between EDIG and Wencor were Firm-Fixed-Price type contracts; bids submitted with a total cost number and no further breakdown. Anything more would be silly, and providing another form of proprietary information for no apparent reason (costing info is proprietary, and typically protected as diligently as tech IP). I have difficulty believing EDIG disclosed such info. This brings an interesting point....it comes down to how Wood valued each element - in his mind/imagination. IMO, the oversight has a very low value - very little effort expended/required. But maybe Wood thinks as you apparently do that this was THE big ticket cost element (no disrespect to you intended). IMO, the value, and the big ticket - beyond production cost - is the tech that cost many resources to develop and magnify. THAT cost EDIG money and time. Payback for THAT should be the premium.

2) Time on our side? Well, near term on the digEplayer, I think they`re stuck with using us or postponing delivery for a very long time (and IMS and Panasonic will be sending Brent some very nice gift baskets!). Long term, Triad, previously not involved in this specific world, is somewhat starting from scratch, needing to engineer a comparable unit without infringing on anything EDIG. Do-able? Probably. When? Meanwhile, medEviewer is here or very near. It`s a digEsystem on steroids. Content? Here or near again for EDIG (based on simto device), when for Triad? Based on what?

3) ASM? Yes. What was the focus of the meeting (you know, the stuff Atul was saying that we couldn`t understand? LOL)? Medeviwer. Not digE-anything. Medeviewer. And not Wencor. Other venus. Yeah, Wencor got their ``thank yous``, but not much more than that. Put this in context with the above.

4) Feeling better about medeviewer? Yes. Heck of alot better than spewing digE-somethings. Medeviewer, and the surrounding discussion, was not about Wencor. It, with content, was either a way to compliment (add to) Wencor, or go around them in whatever venue (including IFE). I`d much rather be in this position than be purely beholden to an unappreciative Wencor.

Out of my mind? That is a distinct possiblity! I`d think about it, but couldn`t rely on any conclusion thereby drawn! Hell of a mess you put me in! LOL
