DM, now Handal, is the lead on how to handle the legal wranglings, defendant by defendant. EDIG as the client has the duty and right to provide input on what they want accomplished, but if push comes to shove, Fred and company will follow counsels lead....that's what they are for.

We also need to remember there is no such thing as a group settlement. Every defendant is separate, regardless of the same law firm represents all parties in a given set of filings.
