Record quarter for B/E Aerospace

October 5, 2005 – LEADING cabin equipment supplier B/E Aerospace today reported a third quarter featuring record orders and a record backlog of around $1 billion.

Despite lower deliveries from strike-hit Boeing, B/E expects to generate earnings of $0.50 per share this year. And on the basis of a stronger than expected order book the company is projecting 2006 revenues of about $1 billion and earnings of around $1.10 per share, followed by double-digit revenue and earnings growth in 2007 and 2008.

During the quarter B/E was selected by a major airline to retrofit its Airbus A320s. This and the Air Canada award that B/E landed earlier this year – together valued at an initial $80 million - are the only major economy-class retrofit programmes in recent years.

The quarter also saw B/E awarded two super-first-class programmes together worth an initial $60 million, as well as contracts for oxygen systems totalling $45 million from Airbus and three business-jet manufacturers.

“The coach-class award is particularly significant in that it could signal the onset of the long-awaited coach-class retrofit cycle,” comments B/E president Robert Khoury. “The international airlines are also now beginning to address their requirements for coach class in their new-buy widebodies, which are due to be delivered in volume over 2007-2010
