I think Sandisk HAD to reject the offer by Samsung because Sandisk knew that they did not own the patents that Samsung wanted to purchase and control.
I am sure that they owned many other patents of their own that Samsung wanted, but they knew they did not have the ability to negotiate the rights to flash memory because they knew they didn't own the patent for "the holy grail"
Sandisk would have had to reject ALL tender offers at ANY price because of this lack of owning the core patent. So because SNDK couldn't sell them what they wanted , so they then agreed to renew a contract for flash chips based on piratcy of eDigital's core patents. WHAT A WEB OF DECEIT
Maybe ( LOL) Samsung didn't knowingly infringe on our patented ideas. When they were were notified by Duane Morris that they were being sued , they quickly agreed to come to the table a negotiate an agreement. DM negotiated a cross licensing and settlement agreement with eDigital ( Oct 22, 2009 PR ) along with many other conditions that could enhance eDigital's future ( maybe a Nunchi agreement for Samsung products)
Maybe this possible Nunchi agreement is why we let Samsung off so lightly.
