That about does it for this year.

The news was underwhelming as I was expecting. I realize many are just fine with waiting indefinitely for real announcements to be made but the time factor is much more important to me. Aside from a possible digEplayer order, I`m rather doubting we`ll get much in the way of significant news for several weeks or even months now.

From the release today:

Anandpura continued, ``Beyond the IFE industry, our video/audio technology platform has brought us new business opportunities from industries and companies where our platform`s features enable their product plans.``

We have opportunities, while industries and companies have plans. That doesn`t sound to me like anyone has decided to commit to anything yet. It does sound encouraging but it just isn`t the same as an agreement to produce so many units at such a price by a certain date - something real they could announce even if they couldn`t provide all the details. No, they`re still shopping their design and hoping for someone to sign on the dotted line. Even if they have an Asian partner helping them, no commitment on the part of an actual paying customer equals no revenue to e.Digital. I know... that`s the way it works. My point is that we shouldn`t make more of this than is evident from company statements. There`s still plenty of work for them to do and a hundred ways for these potential deals to yield little or nothing at all. Look at F10, TGE, or Musical - just 3 examples in recent history of deals that were once thought would be worth something. This time will be different when and if any of these new deals are consummated.

Lastly, does anyone else think that whatever the potential Fusion deal was just might not come to fruition? Other than apparent statements to shareholders that ‘we are still working with Fusion`, I don`t think they`ve released anything official since the original PR. Unlike others, I do think that silence is cause for concern in this case. Plans change.

Here`s hoping 2005 is a vast improvement over 2004.
