``I`m more under the impression that if the device looks different to an adequate degree, we`re good to go.``

``Not that it look different but internally function different.....from the HDD to the I/O.``

rephrase..

Not that it look different but internally allow for different component arrangement.....from the HDD to the I/O.``

Scenario...

I have applied for an IFE patent....in that patent app. I have made claim that my IFE self contained device will have an encrypted hard drive scheme with associated I/O to allow data flow into it....be it wired or wireless standards.

I have also made claim of other security layer issues relating to my IFE device to be.

I do not spell out technically how this is to be done...just that I require them.

========================================================

That is just about the extent of what APS applied for.....nothing technical.....just a wish list.

However that wish list...is for the benefit to compete against The Panasonic`s of the industry in the portable IFE arena.

Is the wish list too broad?

Is describing your IFE device to have... Enough?

Can Panasonic now come along with a self contained portable spelled out to have a final layer of protection being an encrypted hard drive... that will contain all the files of the system including pre encrypted files(premium content now doubly protected)as well as non encrypted files(now protected by default)?

That`s what WENCORS now owned efforts will have to test...
