One weirdo conflict potential in my mind based on my background in contracts compliance and ISO compliance: according to the strict guidelines of ISO 9000 (and Wencor is ISO 9000 certified), they cannot accept an order without internal and external (i.e., subcontractor) absolute assurance that they can timely deliver to a prospective customer. This must be verified before executing a contract. However, Wencor could/would receive an order(s), then seek and gain required assurances before executing (i.e., signing) the contract. This would be a standard step in the contract approval process (only usually, or should I say preferably, such assurances are established before the business is even solicited). So IF Wencor secures some DS orders out of WAEA, things will have to happen pretty fast to get things resolved one way or the other. Unless, of course, the contractual first delivery is scheduled way in the future (like a couple of years), but what airline would do that? (recognizing the dynamic high tech industry - and new IFE is high tech). Even with the time it takes to get a new plane (from order to delivery), IFE could be selected much later for a plane ordered today, so why commit to something that would then probably be obsolete?
Did I mention that Wencor needs to sell something?
