The Big Six refers to the six corporations which own the Big Ten, the ten major Hollywood movie studios:
News Corporation - owns 20th Century Fox
The Walt Disney Company - owns Buena Vista, Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures and Miramax/Dimension Films
Viacom - owns Paramount Pictures
Sony - owns both Sony Pictures Studios and MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer).
Time Warner - owns both Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema.
NBC Universal - owns Universal Studios
