it deserves more examination. We are all engaged in morbid thinking here about EDig being involved with the DS. Would EDig be hurt so much if WE WERE NOT?

We seem to be solidly locked into the DP with BOW. Ongoing business seems prevalent here. HOw many ``legacy`` carriers from the US or elsewhere are there to order a ``home run`` amount of the DS embedded system and just how much would that one time order be worth?

We have learned there are many many airline customers out there that DO NOT WANT an embedded system but PREFER the handheld DP for various reasons, IE: older airplanes that will be turned in or retired in a short period of time, cost for down time and installation of an embedded system, ease of maintenance for a handheld as opposed to working on an embedded system, a profit center, not a cost, for each airline. Will the DS cost the same per passenger, $10.00 or so or will be it part of the cost of the ticket and usable for each passenger free of charge? In which case it is a cost, not profit....

In everything I have read about the rise in popularity of the IFE`s on EVERY airline it makes no mention or very little mention of the profitability of an offered IFE to the passengers only advertising of its entertainment/business use and uniqueness to draw that passenger to ITS AIRLINE. It seems to me the DP offers both the uniqueness desired and required by airlines AS WELL AS THE PROFIT POTENTIAL.

Now maybe that one ``home run`` order would be tremendous to Edig but what will be occuring when the ``signed up for the DP`` airlines number 50 or 75 of the 300 or so airlines in the world. That would be a pretty significant amount of business, reorders and maintenance of the units....

In the long haul which would turn out to be better for EDig`s bottom line???
