"One point is I like that they said "transistor" and not MOSFET. That is a very smart move. A MOSFET is a transistor, but not all transistors are MOSFETs. Nobody uses MOSFETs anymore. Everybody still uses transistors of course."

The patent reads @ .....8:45

"FIG. 5 illustrates the circuitry for supplying variable voltage. Three power out lines 61, 62, and 63 are driven by the microprocessor. Signals from these power sources go to electrical switches such as MOSFET devices 64, 65, 66 that distribute power to different parts of the circuitry."

IMO, they were never tied to any particular issue.
