outgrowth of the digEplayer designed

for in-seat installation. Each unit gets

power from the seat, but is updated and

fitted with new content via an 802.11a

datalink — ,b>an operation which can be

performed while the aircraft is being

turned around between flights. It also

has a USB port for optional devices

such as keyboards or game players.

Compared with a traditional IFE

installation, Wencor/APS says, the

digEsystem is simpler to install and to

upgrade and does away with the

traditional head-end server, while still

offering a wide variety of programming.``
