Regarding amendments, if the recent action considers the "power supply" issue(?)

defendants argue....paraphrase "the power supply, supplies power to the device"

e.Digital argues ....paraphrase..."the control circuitry supplies power to the device"

e.Digitals claim...

"a power source coupled to the control circuitry for supplying electrical power to the device"

amendment possibility....change supplying? ......to: directs, or any appropriate synonym(?)

IMO, addressing it in that manner displaces the redirected 5V charge pump circuitry supplying power to the micro-controller when in battery mode. Where the control circuitry does, in effect, directly supply electrical power above and beyond the battery power supply to the device, ....from within circuitry issues.

For that consideration, the battery supply, as defendant argues, is not "supplying electrical power". Micro-controller 21/ control circuitry 21, being the same consideration, is a device issue that has a self-serving power source directed back on itself.

As for AC / DC power supply, defendants point could be argued, fore the charge pump circuity is not functioning for this consideration. However, AC power supply does not energize the device issues, it must be converted to DC by way of circuitry, with that, is the AC power supply, powering the device, or control circuitry management?

What an enigma....and it's not my riddle.
