It is clear to me that Wencor tried to do an end around EDIG and eliminate a competitor(IMS) at the same time...but it did not work out quite as expected.

It is clear to me that EDIG is not giving up its IP. At the time of the SHM I believe that EDIG was not involved per Wencor`s efforts, as stated by RP...and they still may not be...BUT, I think there remains a very good chance that EDIG will be involved as things continue to evolve.
