HTC did us no favor. All the prior art that the USPTO used for the rejection came from research HTC and friends did. Without that prior art we could have sailed through the re-exam. The fact that they forwarded hundreds of references to prior art to the USPTO after we settled with them seems like it was sour grapes, or "This will teach you not to fool with us again".
