I was was with FDNY thru 9/11 and am currently with USACE. Shoring up the levee is the priority now, then we can get onto the task of restoring infrastructure. Looting was limited at the Pit, but it was a concentrated area of attack with most people in shock, just trying to help anyway they could. We actually had to turn away people , it was that chaotic.

This damage is so widespread and of such impact on humanity, it is not comparable to our experience in NYC. Law and order must be maintained so search & rescue ops. can be safely executed. Help will be there in a big way once the washed out areas are secure.....

EDIG can wait: we have been down in these dumps before.
