AVOD aboard KLM’s new A330s
August 29, 2005 – KLM’s first Airbus A330-200, due to enter service on Amsterdam-Washington DC this Thursday, will feature audio/video-on-demand throughout and 170-degree sleeper seats in business class.
The first of eight on order, the aircraft was handed over last week. KLM’s A330s will replace Boeing 767-300ERs between now and March 2007. Two more aircraft will be delivered this year and deployed on the carrier’s routes to New York Newark and Accra in Ghana.
The A330s will be configured with 30 seats in World Business Class and 221 in economy. The two products are similar to those similar to those offered in KLM’s Boeing 777 fleet.
