Strange. You're saying the MMs are doing this to stimulate trading yet it seems to produce unintended consequences and actually depresses trading volume. You'd think they would stop it. :>) You remember the adage about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. :>):>):>)
I admit it. I have absolutely no idea why we see these crazy buys and sells of nominal amounts . Many are for total $ amounts less than the commission charged. There are theories about it....generally explained as conspiracies by the most imaginative among us. I'm sure there are folks on this board who fit that description.:>) The mere fact it happens means it's serving someone's purpose but I don't believe there's anything sinister behind it.
"......Trading like this is discouraging, and does not give a shares buyer or potential buyer much confidence in EDIG's stock......."
It's not the trading that discourages confidence in EDIG. It's EDIG's perceived performance that discourages trading. I say perceived because of EDIG's stealth policy in publishing information. If the public at large thought EDIG's performance warranted a higher price, there's nothing the MMs could do to hold it back. Why would they do that anyway?
