Message: lets be serious

Many times over the years, various posters here have been thought to be good candidates for a BOD seat, in fact I know of one person who was even asked if interested by a BOD member, and it was declined.

So, if someone from this group were to be"forced" on the company to own a chair, what happens next:

  • sign a confidentiality agreement
  • discontinue participating here or anywhere else re: message boards
  • must adhere to SEC rules
  • many other items....

Believe it or not, on Feb 3rd, my 1st 2011 visit, I even asked about representation. I brought this up in reference to us holding 50 - 70 mln shares, and the above list was the meat of his response. In other words, that person would "represent" all share holders, not a specific group. Eric does not "represent" the Polis interest, he is responsible to all holders, just as anyone on the BOD. People can debate that comment...but give it some thought 1st.

The people who participate here and some other boards, make contact with Fred via emails/calls, as they did with Robert, then share the answers. None of the answers are anything new really, and certainly not the subject matter being asked, re: the SHM 20 question list, or letters and emails shared here.

The members who live in the area, and a few out of town who visit family in SD 1 or 2 times a year, also drop by over the years. At the 2009 SHM, a couple from FL made the trip, to participate in Q&A, yet the member no longer posts here. We met the night before and had a nice chat, then slung some questions at "the fellas" when that part of the meeting opened up. DRVEN, myself and others shared thoughts too, then did same, in an effort to represent those who could not attend.

The point is real simple, people here can represent the group better, get ones point across, answered or not, but at least the feelings and need to know is conveyed.

A very typical visit has me with a list of topics that I read here. I pick several, especially if it comes up multiple times, and say "our group has some concerns and needs some answers...here we go." I am not there just for my special concerns, but for this group. Do I get what we want to know all the time? No...but at times questions are not questions at all, they are statements that are laid out there to express what we expect out of mangement. Will this effort change the culture? Maybe a little IMO...

I have seen sunpoop in action at the SHM's and I assure you, in a private visit his MO is consistent..just read his posts after a SHM or visit and tell me what you see? Frank is there for all of us.

My style is not to report every detail of what is discussed, and my next trip is after the Q is out, but to keep hammering the points, our concerns, the need to know.

In my 11+ years visiting at both the Poway and Rancho Bernardo offices, RP, FF, WB...you name it, holding things close to the vest is the name of this corporate atmosphere, and it will never change. Public companies keep "secrets", and it's just the way it is.

Bottom line, those who make contact with management in any form, help us all far more than being isolated from the group and participating as a BOD member.

Well, these are my thoughts....
