APS owns the trademark ``digEplayer`` and the specific feature set and look of the current unit (as well as the trademarked logo).

EDIG owns the guts of the thingy and, as an additional part of the deal with APS, controls the manufacturing. Most likely, this was the orignal agreement with Bill Boyer and protects EDIG`s super secret decoder ring technology.

Boyer`s idea, EDIG`s tech to make Boyer`s toy. To be correct, EDIG is the Original Design Manufacturer and outsources the physical manufacturing. They do not own the factory, but they are also the Original Equipment Manufacturer as well in this case. This is common to many OEMs as ``factories`` simply want to build stuff. Most of them have little to no ability to market their production capacity in the US....very common for China manufacturers not associated with major brands.

Today, I would guess EDIG simply receives purchase orders at the already agreed upon terms.

We KNOW EDIG is free to sell to anybody they wish. We just wish it to be a long and profitable deal with Wencor -- no sense tinkeling on your only revenue parade.

However, if not Wencor, then EDIG can take its toy and go play with someone else; albeit with a different look and name. Wencor is free to do the same with their look and trademark and somebody else`s toy (if available). Today, they need each other. Let`s hope it stays that way, but EDIG needs to have Plan B ready to rock and roll (as in EDIG needs to sell something).

...this one is worth less than the last one and it was worth less than you paid for it....off to Vegas for the weekend! John

Oh, I forgot to mention that EDIG needs to sell something.
