Nope, I was talking about the current ``enhanced`` digEplayer, not the digEsystem. Everything is there except the gaming software; then add the ``where am I`` (am I over international waters or a state/country that permits gambling? at this moment?) and associated interfaces I suggested, and you`re there; an all-in-one device serving as a gambling device and entertainment device (non-gambling). Results of gaming play would cause real-time info update WITHIN THE DEVICE, but the charges wouldn`t hit till the info was uploaded to the credit card people (which they are already doing for the charges for using a current enhanced digE).

B-Lunist refers to device storage issues. With the ethernet on/off function I suggested, devices could be issued/retrieved at the gate and automatically activated at the appropriate time (and the gaming function enabled/disabled depending on what air space you`re flying over).

I`m NOT suggesting real-time internet gaming. Seems to me that it would be much more difficult to do (and capture the needed info - too many more interfaces). I`m talking play as you fly, get charged after you land just as you`re charged for the use of the digE (and look out for over-charging!).

Just seems too simple.... and fits the current logistics, augmented with issuing devices on the ground (FAs would like that!).

FWIW,

SGE
