"The American Action Forum, a conservative group, issued a letter of concern that the House bill would not stop the diversion of fee revenue earned by the US Patent and Trademark Office for patent application processing to other government activities."
LOL, USPTO administrators just wanting more control of the gravy train. They are, for the most part, a tax payer subsidized entity....IMO, the above is nothing more a selfish detail they want control of.
Did you catch last nights, 8-14-11, 20/20 chronicle on US companies hording cash over seas ?
The problem is companies heading over seas ....ie....Switerzland....etc and having to move their patent base accordingly in order for things to appear legal.
These US(?) companies do not want to bring the cash home, however, still want some form of preference protections.
I say, you move to save on tax issues, you no longer get preferences. That said, the political gaming is way bigger than the US government or it's legal system.
IMO, It's all political maneuvering.
US companies are in a strange position, more so than ever before,...investor interests or stay patriotic?
They're experts at the political game and could care less about anything else.
