Wouldn`t they just be trading EDIG for another middle man in your scenario?
Also note the growing exposure of e.Digital as the brains behind the digEplayer. To break with EDIG would mean no design partner to develop the next generation player.
As RP stated, being expensive is not the issue.
Obviously trying to get it cheaper did not work with IMS, so maybe now Wencor gets that its relationship with EDIG works for both sides...sometimes these guys can be too shrewed and end up missing the boat.
With IMS lurking as a competitor, all the more reason for Wencor to stay with what is a proven winner, and a partner in EDIG that adapts per request...outsourcing to EDIG for Wencor`s design is a big plus, imo.
