Why would they walk away from the ``IFE Product of the Year`` after establishing it as THE portable IFE product?
Money.
A better question: If Wencor could buy a studio approved DVAP directly from another source, why would they keep EDIG in t he picture?
IMO, the key is EDIG`s current security. That`s it, but may be a big IT. Wencor has the content, the awards, the brand name, the feature set and ``look``, and all the contacts. All they need is another player that has a level of security the studios will accept. There are many players on the market and many more to come. Can any of them provide security in closed system? I don`t know.
Yes, we would like the Wencor deal to be long term. However, IMO, good business sense says if you can do it yourself and cut out a middle margin (EDIG), you make more money.
Who knows? Maybe EDIG will find another entity that wants what Wencor has -- and is willing to pay EDIG for their portion of the deal.
