You could analogize this as the sound wave trapped in the memory
The representation is programmed to variable voltage states of the memory cells....where the various states are read back at different levels .....that represent a sound wave to be interpreted back to the speaker.
The D is a digital matching issue in front of the R....as the levels of R are written to the memory. AD...is where programmed "on / off" cell states represent a digital condition. doni
