Gil, what I understood Atul to say was that EDIG is not about to sign up with Wencor on the digEsystem unless it makes financial sense to EDIG. EDIG is not going to lock its tech into a deal with Wencor and have no other opportunities. IMO Atul seemed very clear about it. IMO Wencor wants what EDIG has and EDIG is not going to buckle. They now have the shares to have the money to not have to buckle. They are not going to have to make the deal with Wencor because they are desperate.(That does not preclude any projects for the digEplayer, in fact Atul`s reference was that if Wencor does not have the digEplayer then a lot of airlines would be very upset.) At this point they have a new product and can begin to free themselves from being dependent on one customer. The plan is to have at least 5 new solid customers for revenue streams. A single customer is wanting control but will not have it if/when EDIG can generate income from the new improved product. IMS may have been able to walk away for similar reasons ( the TDL that they have seems to be the part of the company that Wencor wanted...Perhaps EDIG and IMS should or could find common ground to work together on a project for hospitals, EDIG the player and IMS the TDL ) The I like it part as I see it is that EDIG is working towards being able to not rely on just Wencor. EDIG has learned a lot from working with Wencor about content. Wencor has probably learned a lot about tech business from EDIG. That IMS and EDIG both have the techs that make sense for IFE and that Wencor needs or wants or could benefit from them puts EDIG ( and IMS? ) in the cat bird seat.
