1. Wencor wants all control and all IP`s. Edig went as far as it could to reamin autonomous but did not satisfy Brent Wood`s desires. Edig backed off/out because if it gave Wencor all it wanted it would have given him EDig. Edig would have ceased to exist in its present form.
2. There was no firm order at the end of development of the Digesystem for Edig to look forward to. Edig would have put in a years development work with no committment to pay for having forsaken all other opportunities.
I find that quite refreshing. Looks like Edig has grown up business wise..
Also it is not expected from Wencor, but the two parties, who shall remain nameless so I don`t get my ass in a sling again, have both stated that it would be very foolish for Wencor to go elsewhere to develop the Digesystem. Wencor would lose at least a year doing so in a market moving as fast as the IFE market is.
The powers to be believe Wencors best interest would be with EDig and I think (IMO) they fell Brent Wood feels that way also except he is an extremely conservative person and wants control which he can`t get from EDig....
