I'm sure if just one of your so-called wishes doesn't happen by 3/14, we'll never hear the end of it.
To put such high wishes on the webcast is setting yourself up for disappointment. I am not expecting much on 3/14. If I get more...great. If not, at least I'm not super disappointed. A [favorable] Markman ruling is what we need now and EDIG would have no way of knowing the ruling will be rendered by 3/14. So, we can safely assume that is not why they've scheduled the webcast, though the ruling could come next week.
We do know that EDIG and Summit Technology Group requested a stay on 12/14/10 through 4/15/11 which was denied. This denial by the court in no way hinders the settlement talks between EDIG and Summit and my guess is it's still a go. Perhaps they'll announce that the settlement has been finalized a month early.
From Doc 330:
"Plaintiff e.Digital and Defendant Summit have been engaged in confidential settlement negotiations which both parties anticipate are likely to lead to resolution of the lawsuit as to Summit. The settlement resolution as currently contemplated is contingent upon Summit’s business performance during the next few months. Summit is one of twenty-eight defendants in the above-captioned litigation.
Accordingly, e.Digital and Summit jointly request that the Court stay the case as to Summit only for the period of four months, ending April 15, 2011 (the “Stay Period”) to enable these parties to attempt to resolve the litigation as to Summit."
