Most likely we will hear via a pacer filing before it hits the press.
One example regarding timing...
CHICAGO, Apr 13, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- PCTEL, Inc. (NASDAQ:PCTI), a leader in wireless broadband solutions, announced today that it has moved forward to the next stage in its patent infringement lawsuit against Agere Systems Inc. and Lucent Technologies Inc. The Judge recently filed his ruling following the January 18, 2006 Markman hearing where the parties offered their interpretation of technical terms of a key PCTEL patent.
Last September, the Judge issued his ruling on three other PCTEL patents that are the subject of the patent infringement suit. PCTEL anticipates that a mediation will take place in the near term, and that the case will advance toward resolution by mediation or further court proceedings. A status conference with the Judge is scheduled for late May.
"We are pleased that the Markman portion of this proceeding is concluded," said Marty Singer, PCTEL's Chairman and CEO. "This completes another step towards resolution of the matter," added Singer.
PCTEL previously settled modem patent infringement claims with 3Com Corporation, U.S. Robotics Corporation, Broadcom Corporation, Conexant Systems Inc., ESS Technology Inc., Smart Link Technologies, Intel Corporation, and several other companies.
