One, I never said that having a large ego is a negative thing. On the contrary, IMO, a health/large ego WHEN BACKED UP BY ABILITY is a very good thing. How many truly successful (in business at least) people have you met that did not have a big ego? A large ego provides the confidence to accomplish large things. Put another way, people with low self esteem (small ego) typically don`t have the confidence to accomplish much. Further, if Wood, in particular, did not have a large ego, I`d be worried about the future of the digE. So, ``defamation``?, I think not. More a compliment.
As for Boyer: baggage handler to President/CEO of his own successful company. Confident enough to approach movie studios for content, and succeed. And fairly consistent public statements of how the digE and associated tech are all his ideas (while rarely giving any credit to the little company in Poway that made it happen). Ego a little inflated? Perhaps beyond the ability to back it up?
As for my suggesting that Wood has a desire for control; look at the evidence! People without such a desire to control (their destiny) don`t go out and buy up other companies. How many companies has Wood acquired? Even that AirFax or Inflight article suggested that (when announcing the intent to acquire IMS) the next Wencor/Wood target may be an in-seat power supplier. Doesn`t that tell you anything?
So I find it interesting that in your post relating to ``facts``, you may have overlooked a couple yourself.
I`m not intending to hammer you here (well, not much anyway!). But when you tossed in the bit about ``defamation``, IMO that was way over the top, considering that I don`t recall ever suggesting that their possibly having large egos or Wood`s desire for control were bad attributes - again, quite the contrary...
