The new alliance… the bigger apple?

Apparently I am not the only one born on February 11th. Yes, you are right, Thomas Edison too… and the Nokia-Microsoft alliance. Nicely done, just before Mobile World Congress, that’s what I call a buzz! It will be an interesting week in Barcelona. Now for sure, when the conversations will get boring and start to die, people won’t talk about Facebook or Wikileaks but definitely about Nokia moving from Symbian to Microsoft. Expected? Maybe after Mr. Elop coming on board at Nokia.

Impossible to avoid it this week in Barcelona, everybody preaching for their own operating systems, claiming it is a good decision, screaming it is an awful one or still undecided and playing Angry Birds while queuing to get his MWC pass or a table at a restaurant. I’m sure you won’t be an android but still be a human being watching and Microsoft and Nokia demos at MWC, trying to figure out what will be the fruit of this alliance.

Barcelona will welcome thousands and thousands of visitors, looking for a place to dine or drink… or looking for their wallets which suddenly disappeared after bumping into someone.

The Mobile World Congressmen and women are so easy to spot on the plane or while waiting for the connection. People travelling during the weekend, like your devoted Agilent blogger, are the ones who will perform booth and demo setups on Saturday and Sunday to make sure everything is ready for D-day, Valentine’s Day, Monday, February 14th when MWC opens its doors to the world and reveals all these secrets companies kept till now. I also have a few secrets, a few new products that Agilent Technologies will launch on Monday. I just hope Wikileaks won’t still my thunder. Let me update my Facebook status before it is too late…
