If you recall, when we first heard of NOKIA it was supposed to "settle" quickly, as they were negotiaing already...

It seams Nokia came into the talks thinking they would settle like Samsung did, for some pocket change. But, I don't see any similarity between the two...

Although, we do not know the details of the Samsung "settlement", we do know there was a cross license agreement of several Samsung patents. I can't see any such cross licnsing with Nokia...

Parties settle whenevr on the advice of counsel they are able to make a risk assement and decide it is to their advantage to settle. If the demand is high, (several million), there is room for many billable hours, all the way to 1/28/2011, left for the defense counsel before they give their last assement to their client.

Thus, your guess the ASKING price has gone up is correct, and there is room all the way to courthouse steps before we see "settlements"...
