I think you are using the wrong comparison. EDIG is overseeing production of digEs. They are in a position to make their customer (Wencor) front a good portion of the production cost. They seem to be doing okay at it.

So, if an Asian OEM comes to us and says ``we want a million Kinos from you, but we`re only willing to give you 10% up front, the rest on delivery``, you think we should run away from that? Is it THAT much different to manage 1,000 digEs versus 1M Kinos? Most of the hurdles and complexities would be the same, only the quantities are different.

Eclipse was a whole different thing. We did some engineering support, and were to simply license our tech for them (Fujitsu) to do the production. F-10 screwed up, not us other than in believing them (the lying SOBs).

The big thing for us is to stay the heck away from trying to market/sell devices under our own brand. We should license our tech, and oversee production if need be (a la digE), but the leave the rest to others better equipped. And I think EDIG has learned this lesson well.

JMHO,
