Assumptions

People (and therefore organizations) frequently make all kinds of rash assumptions. That Wencor didn`t do enough homework before buying APS is certainly plausible. On the other hand, I thought that EDIG and Wencor were both present at some airline show prior to the buyout so it would be somewhat surprising if Wencor didn`t know about EDIG`s involvement in the digEplayer or what it would mean to them if they bought APS.

I think Wencor may well be unhappy about paying royalties however I doubt they were unaware. Whether they now see value in what EDIG has to offer remains to be seen.

One thing that`s occurred to me is that Wencor is spending a lot of money in IFE (buying APS and now IMS) without getting much return on their investment. It`s not like they`ve sold much lately (so far as we know). They must think there`s real money to be made here. If so, what`s the big deal paying a few royalties if it helps you become the leader in the IFE space?

Just some thoughts.
