The supposed ``exclusive`` would be a moot issue if Wencor were in on the licensing. Just write your way around it in contractual documents. If Wencor could/would get a piece of the pie....let it happen. Like I alluded to, a ``contributing competitor`` with a probable higher-priced simto offering to help you stomp out other competition. Pretty sweet scenario for Wencor (and, of course, all other participants in the digE supply chain ; EDIG, ITTIAM, DivX, Studios, and maybe even the digE manufacturer if Panasonic went the whole nine yards and used them, WIN-WIN-WIN).

Still, while intriguing, it`s highly unlikely that what I proposed would have actually played out (how many high level execs at Panasonic would fight tooth and nail to combat such a scenario in order to protect their turf? Internal politics rules....).

These things I KNOW! Or am pretty darned sure of!
