amazing how recently there's a greater significance and importance regarding IP, where prior that, the normally considered "economy of scale rules" does not seem so important now.

Are the investors of these companies suddenly stricken with, do we have IP worth anything?

At this time, regarding controller tech...would you rather invest in ....ie a Zoran situation, or an e.Digital situation? IMO, there is an arguable consideration there.

What allows e.Digital are patents leaning on serialized data orchestrations....and a method of escapement through various detailed caching schemes.

Those two considerations are displacing much of the normal IP.

The industry is watching, I have no doubt about it. If they get definitive settlement/admittance of the current 19 and the prior 7, there will be no stopping them.

This is not an exercise of futility, they are out to prove the capacity of their IP.

If you showed up more than 4 years ago....you were very early to this issue.

Except it for what it is....to be proven.

If they fail to prove the capacity, the company is nothing more than a Zoran. That is what you have invested in a "CRAP SHOOT" nothing more nothing less. If you see it for more than that you're in the wrong investment.

What the company does regarding general business issues are great....but, if they fail the legal test....IMO, all is for not.

Going forward companies need to own qualified and useful IP, that is why all the fuss recently.

Frown on what you must...but that is how I see it now, that is how I saw it in 1999.
