JHawk: Don`t think we`re quite there yet. Not enough Connexion/other, plus they`re (WAEA) still discussing standards/protocols for in-flight wireless connectivity (just within cabin) - at least as I understand it. By the time the digEsystem becomes available, all this will be worked out (and I actually think that THIS is what is, or party of what is, holding up digEsystem roll-out - and I also think that, since the digEsystem isn`t really a ``product`` until all the connectivity issues are hammered out, THIS is why EDIG is being so evasive about it). The things you suggest almost certainly will happen though.
Trillium: While I agree that the ethernet connectivity would enable faster content updates, it seems to me that the card reader info uploads would be the more ``urgent`` matter (since digEs supposedly only get content updates periodically, while card charge uploads would be frequent/daily). Does this suggest more frequent content updates? More types of content (e.g., newspapers)? Interesting....
And Bankerson: Thanks for the reminders re: WAEA conference. Could the prominent airline IFE plan announcement involve us? Sure hope so. Conference ends tomorrow.... News today?
Thanks!
All these things I think I KNOW.
